McLernons work in partnership with PharmaPOS
Northern Ireland pharmacists will now be able to avail of a unique service, designed to help the independent community pharmacist create professional point-of-sale signage and to print this off in their pharmacy.
Keith McLernon of McLernon Computers said, “We are delighted to announce this new partnership with PharmaPOS - at McLernons we are constantly looking for ways in which we can better serve our customers. Last year we announced a world-first for pharmacy, an innovative partnership with the BNF, and this agreement with PharmaPOS is just the first of several such relationships to be announced this year.”
What is PharmaPOS?
PharmaPOS is an internet service - when the community pharmacist signs up for the programme they receive their own log-in details, which allows them to access a wide range of predesigned templates. They then complete a form with the requisite information, such as product, prices, etc., select the product images as appropriate, proof the sign - which will include their pharmacy name or logo - on their screen and then print.
Bill McConnell, Chief Executive of Documation, the developers of PharmaPOS, explained the move to Northern Ireland. “Until now, we had been concentrating our efforts in the Republic, where we have upwards of 350 community pharmacists using our services. Our aim is to allow the independent community pharmacist to compete on a favourable basis with the larger groups and supermarkets selling similar products. Producing high quality signage, including shelf edge labellers, in house allows them to promote the idea that shopping in a local community pharmacy makes good commercial sense for the customer.”
“We are not asking pharmacists to invest in expensive equipment - all they need is a colour laser printer and our start-up package, including sign holders, etc, provides everything they need. Thereafter, their only costs are our monthly licence fee of £35 per month.”
“PharmaPOS are delighted to be working in partnership with McLernons, who enjoy a long reputation for their innovative software and have an enviable track record for the service and support they provide to their customers. By using McLernons' trainers and engineers I believe PharmaPOS is best placed to meet the needs of NI pharmacists, giving them the tools they need to compete in a tough retail environment.”
Further details about the service are available on the PharmaPOS website, www.pharmapos.co.uk, complete with demonstration video, etc. Anyone seeking further information should contact McLernons Customer Service Department on 0845 658 0010, or contact Barry Tarpey-Gainey at barry@documation.ie.
